These two photos show the difference between a snapshot which is just the building and a memory because it has the building , the name along with family. Adding people to pictures can really add a hook of interest for the viewer. It adds a personal connection to the subject.

Cityscapes are not just buildings. Some have piers and naval memorials. These docks make for very interesting walking tourism. San Diego has several ships ranging from The Midway aircraft carrier to The Star of India windjammer. In Chicago, Navy pier has art and food. On July 3rd, Navy Pier puts on an amazing fireworks show.
With cityscapes, composition is king. Dynamic lines and elements can draw the eye to the subject. Learn about the “rule of thirds” is very helpful. Some camera apps actually will show lines on the screen to mark the line of thirds. I try to shoot with my final image in mind. Often the first image is a trial run. I’ll shoot and check the image then make adjustments for the next image. Make sure to get your exposure correct for the highlights. Once blown , you cannot recover the highlight.
