Think Creatively

I often to think in possibilities. I am not only solving problems—I imagining what could be. This often shows up in storytelling, photography, strategy, or how I try to inspire others.


I am curious, imaginative, and drawn to new ideas, cultures, or perspectives. These ideas recur frequently in my life. They influence what my hobbies are. They effect where I travel to. They influence how I make a photograph.

Often times, I don’t mind going against the grain. I question norms, challenge assumptions, and feel comfortable when you take a unique path too. I see value in the unusual or unexpected. It could be a fun place to eat or a brand new way of solving a problem. You will see this across my blog posts constantly.

Photography

Showing the world through my lens is one of my favorite passions. It is my way of sharing unique perspectives on the places I explore. In each photo, I try to tell a story. I aim to freeze a moment. I want to inspire others to see the beauty in everyday and maybe not so everyday experiences.

My approach

I combine technical skill with artistic vision. My focus is on lighting, composition, and timing. This approach brings out the spirit of each location. Many times, I shoot with a very specific outcome in mind. So while I may look like the village idiot taking the picture, I really have a plan. Most of the time. sometimes. OK.. maybe I am the idiot at times 🙂

Gear & techniques

I shoot with an iPhone 13 today. Not the latest or greatest but its the one I have and it works. I am a firm believer in the best camera is the one in your hand. I also firmly believe that if you learn your gear, you can be successful. I also explore creative application of “gear” to enhance creativity and capture more dynamic scenes. One example is taping an IR filter over the iPhone camera lens. I then use a software app to allow very slow shutter speeds to emulate IR film.

Inspiration & goals

Travel photography fuels my curiosity and passion for discovery. Or is it the other way around? My travels and photography are so intertwined that it can be impossible to separate them out. Photography is a hobby that allows to be fully flex my creative side across the board.
